Itinerary
The legendary Inca Trail is one of the most famous and beautiful roads, located in Cusco, Peru and has the destination of Machu Picchu. We will travel the Sacred Way of the Incas on a pilgrimage to our own interior and amazement will be behind every corner.
Day 1: Cusco – Wayllabamba
We leave from Cusco, heading to Km 82 to begin our walk. This will also be our first checkpoint. The first leg is a relatively easy hike over flat terrain until lunchtime. In the afternoon we will walk another 2 hours towards Wayllabamba in a gradual terrain up where our camp is located.

Day 2: Wayllabamba – Paso Warmi wañusqa – Paccaymayu
From Wayllabamba we will walk uphill until we reach the highest point of our Classic Inca Trail trek, the Dead Woman Pass at 4600 meters. This part of the Inca Trail will take approximately 5 hours (7 km). From there we will descend for another 2 hours until we reach our camp in Paccaymayu at 3600 meters.

Day 3: Paccaymayu – Runkuraqhay Pass – Phuyupatamarka – Wiñayhuayna (16KM)
From our camp we will walk one hour uphill to Runkuraqhay and then one hour to the second highest point on the Inca Trail, the Runkuraqhay Pass at 4000 meters above sea level with an impressive view of the valley. We continue to Sayacmarka where we travel with our guide and arrive in Chakiccocha to enjoy lunch. In the afternoon after 1 hour of walking we arrive at Phuyupatamarka Inca archaeological site, which is a reference to know that we are already descending to 3600 meters above sea level. Finally we go to Wiñayhuayna where we arrive around 5:00 pm
Optional: If you still have energy, you can also go to the Wiñayhuayna ruins before dinner, which is about 5 minutes from the camp.

Day 4: Wiñayhuayna – Puerta del Sol – Machu Picchu – Cusco (6KM)
At 4:30 am we will begin our walk to the first checkpoint. And then we will walk around 1 – 1½ hours to Puerta del Sol, where you will have your first view of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. From here we will have an additional 30 minutes to the second checkpoint outside Machu Picchu. We will enter the citadel and take a tour of the temples and terraces for about 3 hours. At the end we restart the walk of the last section to Aguas Calientes or you can take a bus. From here you must return by train to Ollantaytambo, where we will pick you up and take everyone to Cusco.
