Day 1: Arrival to Puerto Maldonado – Ecolucerna Lodge
You will be picked up at the airport and driven to Capitania port in Puerto Maldonado, capital of the department of Madre de Dios, a region christened Peru’s Capital of Biodiversity, and one of the least explored areas in the Amazonian rainforest and home of more animal species than anywhere else on the planet, one of Peru’s most important protected areas.
From the Capitania Port we take our private boat along the Madre de Dios River for approximately 11/2 hour to Ecolucerna Lodge. A cool welcome drink awaits you and then you’ll be shown to your Bungalows to settle. In the afternoon we gonna have the introducing walking into the deep jungle where you can find a variety of birds, mammals, monkeys, reptiles and more. Return to Ecolucerna Lodge for a delicious traditional Dinner.
Nocturnal Activities are available each night. These range from nocturnal walks, talks on different topics and Cayman spotting when conditions are optional.

Day 2: Sandoval Lake Tambopata Nr / Twilight Walking
After a nutritious breakfast, you will get ready for a long hike in the Tambopata National Reserve, reaching the shores of Lake Sandoval. This experience will teach you why Madre de Dios is called the biodiversity capital of Peru. You will see the conservation works being conducted at the reserve, learn how the lake was formed, and sail upon it in a canoe. It is the home to the endangered giant otter, the blue and yellow macaw, the howler monkey, the black caiman, and one of the world’s largest scaled freshwater fish, the paiche. Returning to the lodge, you will eat lunch, and later in the afternoon experience something extraordinary twilight walkwing into the gardens and a majestic view of the surrounding area and, if you are lucky, you may spy a red billed toucan, hummingbirds, surucua trogons, squirrel monkeys, and a three toed sloth Awaiting you at the lodge a fantastic and energizing dinner.

Day 3: Fishing On Tambopata / Visit Native Family
Today you have the opportunity to visit the native familes and check by the way our farmer’s activities in the Chacra Lucerna.
Later you will have the entire afternoon on the river, it’s fishing time for payara, a real fighter, large and strong even by Amazonian standards, try your luck at pacus and zungaros (catfish).
At night, it’s back to the lodge for dinner and a well deserved night’s rest.

Day 4: Ecolucerna Lodge – Puerto Maldonado
Your day begins with a nutritious buffet breakfast before you head back up river to Puerto Maldonado, you will relax and calmly wait for you flight home or to your next destination.
